Karen Read is accused of murder in the second degree, driving under the influence, and fleeing the scene of a hit and run of her police officer boyfriend, John O'Keefe. The prosecution and defense paint different pictures of what happened on the night of his death.

The prosecution claims that Karen and John had problems in their relationship and that she ran him over with her car while drunk, before fleeing the crime scene. The defense states that Karen dropped off her boyfriend at a party with his work colleagues and that it is more likely that he was attacked in the home before being left outside in the blizzard to die. Karen also claims she is being set up by the cops as a cover-up for their actions.

A Federal investigation is also currently being conducted but has not yet concluded. In contrast to the prosecution's evidence, Federal investigators say that they do not believe John O'Keefe was hit by a car.

The jury selection begins Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, and I will be covering it gavel to gavel!
