A class-action lawsuit has been filed by six victims of Jeffrey Epstein against the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) government and Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett, alleging a conspiracy to aid Epstein’s sex-trafficking scheme. The lawsuit, which was first filed in November and amended in December, accuses high-ranking officials of the USVI of providing Epstein with a haven to operate and expand his trafficking ring from 2001 to 2019. The plaintiffs argue that the USVI officials facilitated Epstein’s crimes by granting him special treatment and overlooking his illegal activities
The lawsuit names various former and current officials, including former Governor John de Jongh, his wife Cecile de Jongh, former Governor Kenneth Mapp, former Attorney General Vincent Frazer, and Port Authority Director Carlton Dowe, among others. The plaintiffs allege that these officials received financial benefits and other incentives from Epstein, who was able to operate with little to no oversight due to their complicity.
The defendants have moved to dismiss the case, arguing that the Southern District of New York lacks jurisdiction and that the claims are factually and legally baseless. They contend that their interactions with Epstein were minimal and did not involve any direct facilitation of his crimes.
In this episode, we take a look at her most recent comments about what went down with former president Trump and the election overall.
