CW: 38th to 44th minute - Abuse, harassment and trauma in sport governance discussed.

Our conversation with Gaby Garton continues our series profiling research about women's football. Angela Christian-Wilkes and Gaby discuss the intersections between her ethnographic research on Argentinean women's football, her role with the World Players Association, and her own experiences as an elite footballer.

FOTP Gaby Garton may already be a familiar name to listeners, having previously played for Melbourne Victory in the Dub. Her footballing career as a goalkeeper spanned domestic leagues in Australia, Argentina and the US, and she represented Argentina at international level. Gaby's completed a PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. She continues to teach and work in academia alongside her role as a Player Relations Coordinator at the World Players Association.

The Short Corner is a The Far Post's home for all things interesting, different and fun that don't fit under our usual programming of women's football analysis and news.

Thinkers/researchers mentioned: Alex Culvin, Michel Foucalt, Mariana Ibarra, Marcel Mauss, Adele Pavlidis.
