What "cargo" are you allowing into the marriage? On this episode of The Favorite Marriage podcast, Monty & Jeannine address the topic of "Marriage Cargo" and why couples need to be aware of what they allow into their marriage relationship. They provide guidance on the "good" cargo and the "bad" cargo, which might impact the health of the marriage.

As couples, we must be aware of what we do, where we go, and who we do it with. If we are not careful and if we don’t put up guardrails in our lives, then we are all capable of allowing bad cargo. No one is immune from this.

It is our job to guard the marriage port, bringing in good cargo and shipping out bad cargo. So, come together in unity as a couple and guard the marriage port.

Key Points:

The port city is our “marriage”, - the place where goods are delivered.

The two ships are the Husband/Wife. What we transfer into our marriage could either be good cargo or bad cargo. It’s critical for every husband and wife to identify the good and the bad “cargo” in their marriage. Our marriage is only as strong as what we invest into it.

Scriptures:

Matthew 19:6, “They are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”

Genesis 4:6-7, “Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
