In the Air Force, in each phase of my career, I started out as a newbie, became seasoned and experienced, then moved and became a newbie again. This cycle repeated over and over. I came to realize that each of these cycles was a microcosm of our life cycle. When I discovered that pattern, it helped me release my egoic attachments to achievements in my career, and by extension, to egoic attachments in my life.
