In a last-minute episode of Just Us, we take a look at Alberta’s Bill 32, which promises to “restore balance in the workplace” by drastically weakening unions, limiting their ability to strike, eliminating the majority of overtime pay, dropping minimum wage for persons with disabilities and much much more.

The assault on the worker is in high gear, and Albertans simply don’t have time to wait for constitutional challenges. It’s not the first blow offered by the UCP, and it won’t be the last.

Unions and workplace action are responsible for every thing from safety laws to 40-hour weeks, from pensions to the existence the weekend. The UCP clearly wants to make sure they have no resources to continue that fight for worker rights.
