Hayley “Shred” Smith is originally from the east coast. After years of visiting her older brother, who was attending college in Utah, she also decided to head out to the outdoor Mecca herself after high school. She spent time working at the outdoor recreation center at the University of Utah, as well as in internship at the non-profit organization Ski Utah. This gave her various glimpses into the workings of the ski industry which would later lead her to other jobs, most notably with her current employer Voile Equipment.

While working in customer service and as a ski tech at Voile, she became interested in getting to know more about the Telemark equipment she was selling and picked up the turn herself. During the podcast she shares some awesome stories about part of the reason she started Telemarking and the need to feed her brain on Telemark gear knowledge while doing so.

It was a really fun conversation and I had a great time talking to the VoileVangelist herself.
