Colin Smothers joins me to discuss biblical gender roles and Rick Warren's evolving views on women in pastoral leadership. In this episode, we discuss the theological implications of Warren's shift from complementarianism to egalitarianism and explore the potential impact on the Southern Baptist Convention. We also delve into the broader topic of biblical gender roles, examining the relevant scriptures and discussing different interpretations and applications. Through an open and candid dialogue, we consider how the Bible informs our understanding of gender roles in the church and society.

Colin Smothers serves as Executive Director of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. He holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where has also taught adjunctly. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary and a B. S. in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University. Colin is married and has five children.
