In this episode, we are joined by Eric Downey, Associate Director & Senior Engineering Geologist at Structural Soils Ltd.

He has 31 years of experience undertaking and managing geotechnical and geoenvironmental ground investigations nationally and internationally. Eric’s technical role in Structural Soils focuses on the rail sector. He is an active member of the Geological Society and is currently working towards chartership.

In this episode, Eric tells us about his love of geology from a young age and how this led him to working in the ground investigation industry. He speaks about working around the world as a geologist and explains why being a ground engineer is more exciting than it sounds.
