Andre’ Virtue Man | Father | Mentor | Coach | Educator With a very calming a peaceful presence, Andre’ Virtue is a man of simplicity, vision and faith. He is a man who listens more than he speaks, except of course when it comes to those things he loves dearly; Football and faith. Before becoming husband and father to his two sons, he was and continues to be a father figure to many. The young boys and girls from all walks of life that come to Ballaz Football Academy get more than the football they come for. They get an environment of love, of family and mentorship – core values that Andre’ has insisted on over the last 17 years. As father of two sons, Christian 13 and Jaden 9 he is a comforting presence. They play, they laugh, they hug they talk. Never insisting that his boys follow in his footsteps, Andre’ lives his life transparently before them with the hopes that they will pull the good they can from his example while also learning from his mistakes. His favorite time with his sons is at bedtime when they talk about their day, tussle around a bit, and pray together before the boys go to bed – Usually one or both stay up long after they should, asking questions about the wondrous things in the mind of a 13- or 10-year-old and Andre’ is inwardly delighted to have this time with his boys. As Coach and mentor, Andre’ has touched the lives of hundreds of young people, especially boys. As a coach of coaches, he has passed along the philosophy that “we aren’t just coaching the game, but we are inspiring, impacting & influencing lives through the game.” From the 3- to 18-year-olds Andre’ knows the influence of his voice, the heavy impact of his words and the assurance of his presence. He guards and stewards this responsibility with accountability and reverence to the one who gave him this awesome calling. John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” As a former player at the youth levels & national U-20 Captain, Howard University Football scholarship Recipient and years of experience playing & coaching he believes in the philosophy that “better people make better players” and has committed himself to serving people into their greatness (players & coaches).
