Johnnee Angell has been holding down multiple pillars of Hip Hop in California since the early '90s, and he's got some stories to tell. We were lucky enough to sit down with him and hear about his journey from dancing in his third-grade talent show all the way up to having his own studio, Hall of Just Iz—and everything in between. Johnnee talked about growing up around country music and getting support from his mom and grandmother. Johnnee talks about the Fu-Schnickens and Das Efx being influences. Recording his first album in Mendocino in 2004 and the whole scene and crew happening in Mendo back then. On getting into the Humboldt music scene and setting up his own studio, the Hall of Just Iz. Johnnee Angell talked about making 5 albums during the pandemic with Turtle. Respect was given to the Fatbol Cypher and the Insight Cypher. Then we closed the podcast with a real in depth conversation about music as an art, and the implications and responsibilities involved. Shoutout to Johnnee Angell and make sure you stay tuned for more from the HipHopHumboldt podcast! #HumboldtHipHop #HumboldtCounty #humboldtcountyhistory #humboldtcountyhiphop #hiphophumboldt _________________________________________ 🙏🏾Follow ❤️ | Share 🖤 | Comment 💚🙏🏾 and thank you for supporting the hip hop community and culture in Humboldt County!
