In today's video we are going to look at cases of so-called Stockholm Syndrome, where someone who has been kidnapped and held against their will, subconsciously develops a bond with their captors as a survival mechanism. The condition is seen in around 8% of kidnap victims, and it can be confusing for the sufferer as they have often been treated appallingly and held in horrific conditions for many years, so why would they feel anything other than hatred for their captor? Here we look at 5 Chilling Cases of kidnapping where the victims survived their ordeal by showing compassion towards their abductor.
