Greiss, who turned 31 on Sunday, is 14-7-3 with a 2.25 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in 25 games this season. He could have become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Greiss signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Islanders on July 1, 2015.   • You've heard ofthe emergency backup goalie. Courtney Daniels was the emergency backup singer. The Los Angeles Kings ice crew member made the save of the day. Pop group Fifth Harmony was supposed to sing the Star-Spangled Banner before the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, but a group member fell ill so they canceled. With roughly 10 minutes notice, Daniels was told she would go on. No rehearsal. No warmup. In front of a packed house at the Staples Center, Daniels absolutely crushed. "I felt so honored and was so excited and I really wanted to help any way that I could," Daniels told the Los Angeles Kings website. "I kinda looked around at everyone. I wanted to take in every moment. I was happy the fans cheered with support." Daniels also got to present the $1 million check to the Metropolitan Division team and the MVP award to Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds. "It was such an incredible weekend to just be in the arena this weekend let alone be a part of it in such an amazing way. So, so honored. Wayne: The National Hockey League (NHL®) will launch its weekly Twitter game of the week tonight, with out-of-market live streaming of the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Boston Bruins game at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be available for free to logged-in and logged-out Twitter users on mobile phones, tablets, PCs and connected devices in the United States via nhl.twitter.com. While the NHL celebrates its 100-year history, it is continuously embracing innovative digital engagement tools to keep hockey fans connected to the game on and off the ice, including streaming live hockey games for fans on Twitter. Tonight's game is the first of weekly, live streams of out-of-market NHL games Twitter will make available free as part of its partnership with MLBAM. Each game will be geo-restricted for U.S. Twitter users only for out-of-market NHL games. Each broadcast will be a simulcast of the home team's television broadcast.
