In this episode, I talk about the practice of redlining and how it still harms minority communities today. There are a number of people who say that racism in this county is over, and Dr. King is the person who ended it. The Fair Housing Act and The Voting Rights Act of 1968 were big blows to institutionalized racism. However, it was far from the end as the Voting Rights act was gutted, and we have gerrymandering. When you look at housing based on race, you will see that redlining didn't go far either. We have a long fight to end racism and make this an equitable country for all. Thank you for listening to The Jim Policast. Be sure to like The Jim Policast on Facebook!
