In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother’s Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Tobi Whitney.

Tobi and her husband, Jeff are fellow nomads. Her and I first connected back in 2016 when the organization that I was running at the time was establishing a girl’s baseball event.

Fast forward to 2022 and Jeff and Tobi begin their own nomadic adventure.

Tobi and Jeff met as freshmen at UMASS Amherst and married soon after graduating. After they decided not to have children, thoughts went to retiring early and exploring the world. When Tobi retired as a flight attendant in 2022, free travel across the globe is now an opportunity. At the time, Jeff was mostly retired, working 10 hours a week remotely. So, they sold their condo and hit the open road in a camper with their cat Milo to see the US and Canada.

After 16 months of living full-time on the road, they’re ready to embark on another new adventure. This is one that will take them across the globe to Italy. There Jeff will apply for his citizenship by descent and they plan on securing short-term leases while exploring different cultures throughout the country.
