According to a recent special television report by New Jersey News 12 anchor Bryan Jenkins, the Newark Police Department released a written statement that a review showed that Latino and African American officers were disciplined more frequently than Caucasian officers. However, research has shown that African American officers have been making this same complaint since the 1960’s. Why have Newark Police Officials, despite numerous written complaints, been unable to determine the glaring obvious for decades? Additionally, what substantive failsafe measures have been implemented to make certain racial differential treatment is not repeated? Join us on Thursday December 29, 2011 at 6:00 PM to discuss an issue that concerns every citizen of Newark New Jersey. Numerous present and former Newark Police officers have been invited to participate.
