According to published reports, thirteen officers of the Cleveland Police Department fired 137 bullets into a car and killed two unarmed suspects. Timothy Russell and Malisa Williams were occupants of a car that was driven by Mr. Russell. The shooting incident began after a 25-minute police chase ended. The police chased Mr. Russell’s car because they heard a shot and believed it came from the car that was driven by Mr. Russell. However, no gun or cartridge casing was found in Mr. Russell’s car. Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine says the incident will be thoroughly looked into. Citizens appear to be skeptical, and claim the investigators have been slow to interview the officers that fired their weapons. Additionally, activists are calling for a federal investigation, and the local chapter of the ACLU wants a special prosecutor appointed to investigate the incident. Join us on Thursday January 3, 2013 at 6:00 PM eastern time for a thorough discussion on this alarming incident.
