This was a great conversation that we had with Maine writer Gary Rainford. We talked about his newest book of poems called Adrift, how he came to writing poetry, how his surroundings on Swan Island influence him and his writing, his creative process, how he defines success, some of his favorite poets, and more!

ABOUT OUR GUESTS:

Gary Rainford lives on Swan’s Island year-round,and is the author of three poetry collections: AdriftSalty Liquor … and Liner Notes. Gary's poems, shaped by tides, saltwater, music, and experience, are published in a wide range of literary magazines, university journals, and newspapers. His most recent book, Adrift, is a love story, and his poems tell the story of his mother’s Alzheimer’s disease.
