In the fourth episode, we are joined by Deanna Cook, founder of LIYA Collective.

LIYA Collective is a range of sustainable minimalist accessories for the modern era.

In this episode, Deanna and I discuss:

  • How her love for travel exposed her to sustainability innovations.
  • Social Enterprises and the movement of putting sustainability at the core of business. And so much more...

What does sustainability mean to you?

To me, sustainability means living our lives and running our businesses in ways that can last—not just during our lifetimes, but for future generations as well. That means operating in ways that are able to regenerate and maintain a certain level of being, whether it comes to financials, supply chains, or the planet at large.

What's one small change listeners can do to immediately have a positive impact on the world?

Educate yourself. There's so much information out there when it comes to sustainability, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and just shut down completely. But the best thing you can do is to learn more about it, because only then will you be able to internalize and really start to contribute in positive ways.

Which business owner do you admire that is doing good things for combatting climate change?

Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger of Allbirds for their transparency with their processes, innovative use of materials, and efforts to go carbon-neutral
