The Knit Surfers enjoyed a freak thunderstorm at the beginning of the month. Lots of summer happenings going on!
Tour de Fleece starts July 4 and goes until July 26. The Ravelry group where it all happens can be found at Tour de Fleece. Kelie always gets better at spinning during the Tour and enjoys watching the projects on the Ravelry page.
Nancy enjoyed visiting Poway at the San Diego Knitters guild. She saw our friend Julie who is letting her display the Aisling shawl she just finished out of Anzula yarn.
The TKGA conference is coming up July 22-25 in San Diego. If you're going to be in the area, stop by the store to say hi!
Nancy is anxious to get the beads on her Summer Boxy Top. She wants to make some tank tops for the hot, muggy summer we've been having.
Some small projects that are easy to make for a lot of people are Tea Toters by Julie Tarsha and Earbud pouches by Mary Keenan.
Current Projects: Kelie's almost done with her Peasant Blouse, only a little more left to do on the second sleeve. Nancy is slowly but surely making progress on her Noema sweater.
Nancy had fun on with the dye class the last weekend in June. She dyed a skein of Abracadabra, a light sensitive yarn that changes color in the sun. Kelie has a pattern she wants to try with that yarn called Dressed up in Love by Lauren Riker.
On Ravelry:
Nancy – Knitsurfer
Kelie – Khalila
