Super League's summer party in Newcastle showcased some great moments but also raised plenty of questions about the future of the event.

St Helens opened the top flight fixtures with a win over Widnes Vikings who put in a good shift and were close for the majority of the game, but Ben Barba and the boys of Saints showed their class at the top of the table. The in-form clash between Warrington & Wigan wasn't as close as many predicted with the Warriors making it 8 wins in a row by beating Wolves, Shaun Wane's last with Wigan as boss after his announcement that he'll be resigning as their coach at the end of the season.

The main event on Saturday night was a repeat of the 2017 Grand Final, always a big event between Castleford & Leeds and the Tigers managed to continue their great recent records against the Rhinos, are Leeds now in crisis? With Kallum Watkins ruled out for eight months due to an ACL injury it's looking tough for them to make the top four.

Salford vs Catalans started Sunday's games with the Dragons taking home two points, Huddersfield after beating Wakefield in the cup last week have done it again in Newcastle. The Hull derby closed the event with the Robins falling to the Black & Whites again to continue their great form in the derby. So... that was Magic Weekend.

From Newcastle to New York: should the RFL really be moving the event all the way to America? What about Wane, will he be staying in league or is he off to union? Plus a round-up of all the news and talking points on The Last Tackle.
