The snow has once again cost us some rugby league action, however it was a somewhat surprising round of results with some of the games that did play!

Huddersfield had a great opening 10 or so minutes against Hull KR, after that it was a quality performance from Tim Sheen’s Robin putting 38 points past the Giants producing some top drawer tries, starting the surprises early on this week. The shocks continued when Salford Red Devils beat Hull FC 24-8, Lee Radford’s men were expected to take home two points.

The main event of the week saw the champions Leeds Rhinos travel to the favoured champions-elect St Helens. In what could be argued as the most enjoyable game to watch so far in the Super League season, the Rhinos won 20-28, giving Brian McDermott a birthday night to remember.

The snow affected Castleford Tigers hosting Wigan Warriors on Sunday but on Saturday Wakefield Trinity took on Widnes Vikings for 27 minutes before the match being abandoned after the freak snow storm stopped any further action. Credit to the chairman Michael Carter shovelling the pitch to try ensure the match could be played but alas Mother Nature had won this round.

The Challenge Cup saw a shock too with League One club York City Knights gaining victory over Championship Swinton Lions, however four fixtures fell thanks to the adverse weather, how these delays will affect the clubs we have to wait and see as and when they are re-arranged.

To discuss all the action and give their review of the big rugby league news this week Mark Wilson is joined by Forty20 editor Phil Caplan and ‘The Legend’ Garry Schofield - this is The Last Tackle.
