In I Heard This Happened: Nicky brings us the Long Lungs Ep from California artist Kevin Nichols. His comments: Pure pastiche, The album fits great next to all the 90’s alternative I miss. The album hits hard and fast out the gate and each song moves from hook to hook as ferociously as possible. The longest song on the disc clocks in at 3:31 which means the songs are lean, all the fat trimmed. There’s the part of me that wonders what Matt Pinfield has to say about this guy. I have a brit/dream pop EP here called School is Hard by High Vu. The vocals are all over the place. ( Don’t really know what I was talking about with the description from the show. Peter Gabriel?! Maybe he sounds like Mccartney might have at 16). It has a jazz/britpop/easy listening feel created mostly by synths. I liked the sound of the first two tracks especially (the 4th track is the 1st track ‘chipmunkified’). An interesting creation from a young musician.https://hughvu.bandcamp.com/album/school-is-hard
