The Law Ep 32-- Taylor v City of Saginaw (2019 6th Cir.): The Tire Chalking Case.
Manage episode 232576382 series 2360634
A week ago, the 6th Circuit held that the government can not put chalk marks on tires of cars in an effort to catch those overstaying the government approved and allotted allowable time to park. The court held that such marking is a trespass on private property and an unreasonable search in violation of the 4th Amendment. While government chalk marks are among the least of the government’s constitutional violations, this case discusses the relevant analysis of unreasonable search cases. Its timely and unusual. Check it out.
