“I’d rather be third string on the championship team than the number one player on the team that lost - and the day that I had that pivot of mindset, everything changed. Now I have incredible humans that work alongside me, I get to lean on their expertise, and I get to do what I’m good at which is (1) use my relationship capital to attract incredible human beings and (2) use my entrepreneurial mind to start companies - so I can create the vehicle, and then let them figure out how we get to the moon or to Mars or wherever we’re going…”
In this episode, we take a different approach to leadership - the kind where you realize and accept that you’re not always the best person to lead your company to growth and success - and instead choose to surround yourself with people who are amazing and happy to do the leading, and the tasks that you’re not good at, as you focus on those that you are great at and light you up.
Joining to discuss all of that is someone who has been through quite the journey of trying out different careers, and starting partnerships and companies - not all of them took off, but from these experiences he learned some very valuable lessons that he has applied since, and is now doing so amazingly well not only for himself or his business/es, but also for his family who he adores, and the people he works with.
