For over 25 years, Mike has been working in management teaching kaizen and Lean principles. Mike has learned first-hand from the master, Shigeo Shingo, the techniques of the SMED system along with the early teachings of eliminating waste from manufacturing operations. Mike has continued his Lean training and implementation of the Toyota Production System under the masters from Shingijutsu Consulting, Masaaki Imai, and other renowned Lean thinkers from Japan.

Mike is a co-author of the Shingo Award winning book Creating a Kaizen Culture: Align the Organization, Achieve Breakthrough Results, and Sustain the Gains

Today Mike and I will talk about:
His experiences learning from Shigeo Shingo
His experiences teaching Lean and Kaizen around the world and how the lean principles have affected his teaching
His approach to teaching and what is important to him when he is teaching.

I think listeners will find Mike’s approach refreshing. He is extremely intelligent and is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met I really enjoyed talking with him and I hope you find his interview insightful and helpful.
