Show Notes

I don't know an entrepreneur who doesn't want to increase her revenue. And we've all heard from the gurus how important it is to "make money while you sleep".

I can get behind that.

We've all got the same 24 hours in a day, and because we don't want to actually WORK 24 hours, it makes sense to maximize our revenue as best we can.

Affiliate commissions is one of those streams of revenue that really is simple to add to the existing work you're doing.

In this episode, my guest, Jeannine Crooks, demystifies affiliate marketing and gives the basics on how to get started. She's a senior account manager for AffiliateWindow.com.

No big promises of course and examples Jeannine gives are certainly not typical but they show what's possible. I earn affiliate income through this site and it's one of the ways I fund the work I do.

So remember, the links in this post and in all the posts on this site could be affiliate links. That means I get a small (very small) commission if you buy something through them (and that's how affiliate marketing works).

In this episode you'll discover:

  • Why businesses are willing to pay to have others send them business
  • What a company looks at when evaluating an affiliate’s application
  • When to start applying for affiliate programs
  • The rules about disclosure with affiliate marketing
  • What to say and where to say it – disclosure --- the top of your posts
  • Where to go to figure out if a business has an affiliate program
