Alexis Turner is a historian of science at Harvard with a dissertation titled ‘Lost Souls Delivered: LSD, Technopolitics, and the Battle for the Spirit of a Nation’. Today’s discussion covers the early history of LSD, from its discovery by Dr. Albert Hoffman, the first therapists to start using it in their practices, and the dark obsession with it by the CIA. It’s a crash course in psychedelic history with a particularly great speaker.
