Verse / Chorus / Verse / Chorus / Bridge / Chorus…. The basics of many songs we know and love…

The bridge occupies a special spot in that structure as it is a musical idea that adds contrast from the repetitive verse and chorus sections by providing musical variation that makes a song more exciting. Think of it as a transitional section.

The great songwriters have used bridges to make ok songs, into amazing and memorable ones. And…. Those are the ones we are going to discuss today as we give you our favorite Bridges in Songs! And we have a guest today!

Zach Djanikian has joined us today!

Zach is a singer, composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Philadelphia and over the years has become a go-to collaborator for tons and tons of artists including Amy Helm, Chuck Prophet, Donald Fagen and the Nightflyers, Rachael Yamagata and many others. He’s also had a steady presence playing guitar, saxophone, mandolin and singing with Amos Lee with whom he’s traveled all across the world.
