The NFL draft is right around the corner, and now JJ McCarthy has jumped in to the top-ten discussion, which might bode well for the Falcons. If the Falcons aren't completely sold on drafting a player with the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, then they may trade back to gain more draft capital. The thing about trades though, is that it takes two to Tango, enter the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders. Both of these teams are in need of as quarterback, and it is widely assumed that they will both be wanting to draft that quarterback in this year's draft. As little as a week ago, the Falcons were to be dependent on one of the top-three teams in the draft NOT drafting a quarterback in order for them to find a trade partner. Now, with JJ McCarthy being looked at by "experts" as a top-ten talent, that may not necessarily be the case. If three quarterbacks get drafted before the Falcons pick at eight, the Falcons will be in a situation where not only may they find a trade partner, but they may have two teams entering a bidding war for the opportunity to draft JJ McCarthy. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael discuss this "dream scenario" for the Falcons, which may now be a little closer to reality.
