Starting his career in 2000 at Independent Capital Management in Santa Ana, CA, he has held various roles, including an internal wholesaler at Pacific Life and a life insurance field wholesaler at Symetra Life Insurance. After earning his MBA from Brigham Young University, focusing on sales and entrepreneurship, Austin founded and later sold his own financial planning company in Southern California. He then served in both sales and management roles at Crump Life Insurance for five years. In 2015, Austin joined Lincoln Financial Advisors, and in 2021, he co-founded Backbone Planning Partners to enhance focus on small business planning.
