Greg Wiens is a mennonite pastor in Canada who was inspired by the efforts of a military vet in an issue of National Geographic magazine.

While reading an article about the efforts made to offer eyeglasses to people in third world countries, Greg and his partner devised an efficient and cost-effective method of giving eye exams to those less fortunate.

The exam takes seconds, and has improved the quality of life for people in underserved communities around the globe. His program recently went viral on Tiktok when he gave an eye exam and had a pair of glasses prepared in under 3 minutes, at a cost of roughly $3 USD.

We discuss how the program came to existence, why we don't hear more about the lack of optometry in the media, Greg's passionate tale of how helping the Congalese citizens of Africa has not only brought communities together, and the sacrifices that have been made to heal a war ravaged community.
