In honor of Black History Month in America, Deborah Archer, the first person of color to be elected as the President of the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors Executive Committee shares the history, mission, and work of the ACLU.

The ACLU has been at the forefront of civil liberty, civil rights, and racial justice in America for over a century. Deborah discusses the dichotomy and importance of the ACLU defending the first amendment on behalf of all Americans, regardless of opposing values, the historical voter suppression tactics used to prevent African Americans from voting, and the wave of assaults on voting rights today.
