Since 1999, there have been over 360 school shootings in America, and as of 2023, more than 338,000 students in the US have been exposed to gun violence at school. It feels as if we’re constantly seeing headlines of school shootings, we’re constantly wondering how this is still happening, and we’re constantly left feeling as if our children are never going to be safe. So what happened on April 20, 1999 in Littleton, Colorado and why has it become a cultural blueprint for other mass shooters? Why does it stand out? This week, Allison and Katie take you through part one of the Columbine High School Massacre.
