TRIGGER WARNING: we will be talking about suicide, we won’t be going into heavy details in this episode, but it will be mentioned.

At 3:15pm on March 26, 1997, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department received an anonymous tip regarding a mass suicide at a rented Rancho Santa Fe mansion. Upon entering, law enforcement was met with a pungent odor, and over the course of their investigation, 39 bodies were revealed, all dressed in matching black tracksuits, black Nike decades, and their bodies covered in purple shrouds. So who were these people, and what led them to take their own lives in what is still considered to be the largest mass suicide on American soil. This week is Part one of Heaven’s Gate: America’s UFO Cult.
