Mark Karan was a teenager growing up in Haight-Ashbury during the Dead's formative years and was an instant fan. He and Rob talk about his growing up and being informed musically by the San Francisco theme, plus much more.
They also get deep, talking about music and emotions, expanding musical horizons beyond the Dead, then coming back to it and being an integral part of the Dead's post Garcia legacy.
Also on the program today is Tim Zoucha of Lincoln Nebraska's Jerry Pranksters to talk about a strong community in a "non-traditional" Grateful Dead market
In the Black Music Moment we honor the great Junior Parker
