Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Fiona

Fiona is an actor and a mama of two from the UK.

Today we will hear about how she had her daughter at home in a birth pool as her son slept upstairs. It was calm, beautiful and even pleasurable!

Her baby girl was born en caul, which is when the amniotic sac is intact and has been believed throughout the ages to be a sign of luck, and her daughter also had a true knot in her umbilical cord. Something that is feared but most of the time totally fine.

She had a doula and an NHS midwife as well as her husband with her.

This birth was the complete opposite to when she had her son in the height of covid, where they threatened her with induction and where she ended up having loads of interventions like forceps and an episiotomy, even though she’d wanted as natural a birth as possible.

This birth was her magical redemption.
