July 24, 2023 – Today’s episode of The Omnibus Show will feature John Leonard, Co-Founder and Event Director of Artomobilia in Carmel, Indiana. He will be discussing cars, nostalgia, and this year's Artomobilia car events.
If you are interested in cars, especially classic and interesting cars, you won’t want to miss this episode of The Omnibus Show. It’s all about Artomobilia, the event that will take place this September in the streets and venues of Carmel. Leonard talks about his love of cars and how his interest has progressed since childhood – from collecting models, to attending car shows in California and Indiana, and now to organizing a multi-venue, multi-day event that brings together the camaraderie and nostalgia of a good ole car show, but on a much higher level and with many more cars.
Artomobilia takes place September 9 in The Arts & Design District in Carmel. Expect to see 500-600 unique and classic cars set up along Main Street and Rangeline Road, as well as, in Midtown where you will find Lotus Palooza. Owners will be wearing baseball caps identifying them as such, so you can stop by and talk about their car’s history and more. In the podcast today, Leonard shares that this is his favorite part.
“What I do like is all the owners. I’ve met people I otherwise wouldn’t have met.” He goes on to discuss how fun it is to watch the flow from the older to younger generation – the owners to the dreamers of one day owning a similar collector car.
Tune in to learn about the different events such as the road rallies, including Monumental, which includes nearly 100 heritage and collector Mercedes Benz, and Shift, a road rally in Southern Indiana. This year there will be an event called Veloce. It will take place at the Indy Executive Airport. Veloce is the largest premium automotive and aircraft-focused hangar party in Indianapolis.
