The Orchestra Teacher Podcast with Corie Benton (Ep. 58)

Corie Benton is the orchestra director at Pope High School in Cobb County, Georgia. Mrs. Benton received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Loyola University in New Orleans. After graduating from Loyola, she began her teaching career in Plano, Texas, moving to Georgia in 2000. Mrs. Benton is an active member of both GMEA and ASTA. Throughout her career, she has presented a workshop at the GMEA In-Service Conference (2013); performed at the GMEA In-Service Conference and had students perform (2015 and 2019); and competed in ASTA’s National Orchestra Festival (2018). She is a regularly requested adjudicator at workshops, clinics, honor orchestras, and LGPEs in metro Atlanta. Corie is a member of MENC, GMEA, and the past-president of the Georgia chapter of ASTA. Although teaching is her passion, Corie enjoys being with her husband and two sons. https://popeorchestra.net/
