Joey McGrath is a lecturer as the School of Paramedicine at Auckland University of Technology. He is completing his PhD and has just published his latest research on "Quantifying cricket fast bowling volume, and perceived intensity zone using an Apple Watch and machine learning". Joey has been a S&C for NZ and Auckland Cricket and has an extensive sports background where he developed his interest for his research on machine learning applied to sports. We talk about his journey, how machine learning can facilitate data for injury prevention in cricket and other advantages of technology, use of wearables and machine learning.
