At the pony paddocks, for a rabbit hunt. These paddocks, usually a peaceful haven for the ponies, had become treacherous. Rabbits had burrowed deep into the earth, creating hidden holes and weak spots that posed a serious risk to the ponies. A single misstep could easily lead to a twisted ankle or, worse, a broken leg. This hunt wasn’t just about sport; it was about protecting the ponies and maintaining the safety of their grazing ground.
