There is a recent box office battle between the movies "Maid in Malacanang" (a dramatization of the Marcos family and household during the last 72 hours before EDSA), and "Katips" (a stage musical about student activists posing as the "new katipuneros" during Martial Law). In relation to the wave of reviews coming from other sources, we have decided to focus on the effectiveness of these movies as propaganda, while fleshing out and providing a critique of their core messages.
