Welcome to the Pillage Pastor (from the Pillaged to the Pillaged / the Broken to the Broken) and a new devotional style teaching series through the book of Acts, where we find how the church got going and growing, as the Apostles, empowered by the Holy Spirit, performed the Acts of God.

In today’s episode we jump in to Acts chapter chapter 5 verses 12-16. What will God Say to you today, through His Word and Spirit?

Why was the book of Acts written? It was written so that we might know how the church began and how it grew so large throughout the world, and still today makes an impact. Who wrote the book of Acts? Acts was written by Luke, a Doctor, to his friend, or maybe even his master Theophilus. The book of Acts was written between AD 63 and 70 and it connects Christ life here on earth and the life of the church, between the Gospels and the letters that we have in the New Testament. Who are the key people mentioned in the book of Acts? Peter, John, James, Stephen, Philip, Paul, Barnabas, Cornelius, James (Jesus’ brother), Timothy, Lydia, Silas, Titus, Apollos, Agabus, Ananias, Felix, Festus, Agrippa, and Luke. A lot of key places are mentioned in the book of Acts. Such as Jerusalem, Samaria, Lydda, Java, Antioch, Cypress, the Pisidian, Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Derby, Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, Caesarea, Malta, and Rome. Now it's good to know that Acts is a sequel to the Gospel of Luke, because Acts ends so suddenly, Luke may have planned to write another book to continue his story as to what happened after Jesus ascended into heaven.

I hope you will find our time in the Word together encouraging and that you will meet Jesus and experience the Spirit Filled life with me. Write me any time and share your story of brokenness, restoration and/or victory, at ThePillagedPastor@gmail.com.
