Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown joined the show. Greg loves when the Pirates are involved on trade deadline day, but isn’t privy to what might be happening in the front office at this very moment. Greg is holding out hope that there is something big on the way – referencing the moves that were made in the last decade+ when the team was in it. Greg does like the acquisition of Jalen Beeks and thinks it fits a left-handed reliever need. Greg doesn’t think their pitching will die on the vine this year. Why didn’t the Pirates make a move to acquire someone like Jesse Winker? Greg thinks the analytics group will be tested because it’s the first time Ben Cherington has been in a buying situation. Greg thinks Cherington will add to the lineup before 6 pm. What will the Pirates do in the next 90 minutes or so? Anything of significance? Steelers reporter Brooke Pryor from ESPN joined the show. Brooke answered questions about a potential injury to Roman Wilson today at practice. She doesn’t think it’s anything super serious and mentioned how Wilson had been getting some run with the one’s at practice. The guys wanted Brooke to paint a picture of Russell Wilson so far at camp, who has been mostly inactive. What does Brooke think of the Justin Fields performance so far? Brooke talked about how things are shaking out on the offensive line so far.
