The Pirates have been labeled a deadline winner by some outlets. Do callers agree? Some fans were ready to pull the plug on their Pirates fandom if things were not done yesterday at the trade deadline. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike isn’t in on the DK Metcalf to the Steelers rumors – he said it’s nothing more than chatter. Mike thinks Justin Fields is taking advantage of the opportunity he has right now and maybe it’s in their best interest that he surpasses Russell Wilson earlier rather than later. Mike thinks there is some significance that Fields is getting the first looks with Arthur Smith and Wilson isn’t while he sits out. Mike got into some new technology the NFL may be using as early as this season. Mike commented on the new kickoff rule as we get closer to real games and how there are still ways for teams to work around it.
