Hour 2: Poni said it has finally dawned on him that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are Steelers, and he said that is because they have had news around them pretty much every day since free agency began. Why does the national media seem to think Fields will quickly take over as the team’s starting QB in place of Wilson? If the Steelers had to play a game tomorrow, which QB would opposing teams want to face?

More and more national voices saying Justin Fields will be the Steelers starting QB soon enough. How many teams around the league have a backup QB that is more naturally gifted than the starter? How will this work with the 2-QB system? Will Fields shine in the Arthur Smith offense? Will Russell Wilson hold him off?

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike thinks it is no coincidence that the Steelers signed Cordarrelle Patterson hours after the NFL changed its kickoff rules to bring that aspect back into the game. Mike said the Steelers could have a nice advantage on kickoffs and why that could hugely help them next season. The guys asked Mike about a few other rules changes and how they will impact the games next season. Mike doesn’t think all of the rules, which appear to be for player safety, will save the league from more injuries.
