"The gentleman that hired me said this group has been going on for 85 years and, not only are you the first woman speaker, you are the first woman to sit at the head table.” - Patricia Fripp

As Onlys, how do we concentrate on connecting with those around us rather than fitting in?

In today's episode, we are going to focus on the power of being first. When she was just 30 years old, Patricia Fripp went into business for herself styling men's hair, when it was a new industry. She has always been curious and a great listener to those around her and it has brought her an immense amount of success in her business ventures. Fast forward a few years and Patricia saw the vision and the opportunity and not only became a well-known professional speaker but the first female president of the National Speakers Association.

We discuss what every leader should know, why it pays to befriend those who appear to have the least in common with you, and why you shouldn't focus on being the only one. Patricia Fripp, CSP, CPAE, is a Hall of Fame award-winning speaker, a sales trainer, author, and an in-demand executive speech coach.

"The future belongs to charismatic communicators who are technically competent and have good people skills." - Patricia Fripp

In today's show, we talk about how to turn a disadvantage into an advantage, how to feel comfortable in a predominantly male environment, and how can leaders bond with their team.

"It's not who's delivering the message as much as what is the message?" - Patricia Fripp
