Today’s episode is all about arts in education I sat down with Bethany Hale, principal of Retta Brown Elementary School, Mrs. Gay Bechtelheimer, Educational Manager for Murphy Arts District, and Sophia Meyers, Vanderbilt University Undergraduate student. They all had such an interesting take on the importance of the various arts in education. Mrs. Hale discusses how her school is an A+ certified school and how that impacts her educators and students. Mrs. Beck discusses her career as an art teacher and her new and exciting role in bringing art to the Southern Arkansas area. Lastly, Sophia shares her experience from the student perspective. She is now pursuing arts in higher education, and plans to even become a teacher once she graduates! I’m so excited to bring these stories to you today! I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I did!
