In our conversation, we discuss medieval Christianity, the Enlightenment, and the long road to religious freedom in the west. I am a social studies teacher and my class covers the global middle ages, and it was a lot of fun to take a dive into historical issues that I teach in the classroom and draw comparisons to their theological, social, and political relevance.
