Hello and welcome back to The ProTipster Football Show for more Premier League Betting Tips. The turkey sandwiches are all finally finished and the mince pies are gone but we’re back with the final ProTipster Football Show of 2017. And baby, it’s a whopper full of Premier League, Championship and Serie A action. Joining me are ProTipsters Martin and Dan so let’s get cracking.

https://www.protipster.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/The-ProTipster-Football-Show-5.mp3

We’ll also be talking about the Guardian’s Top 100 players of 2017, why Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini is seen as a villain, why Middlesbrough sacked Garry Monk for Tony Pulis and the bizarre appointment of ex-Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal at Swansea City.

Premier League Betting Tips

We kick off the podcast speaking about the Stamford Bridge clash between Chelsea and Stoke City. The boys speak about Mark Hughes living on borrowed time and should Chelsea give Stoke a hammering at The Bridge it could well be Hughes’ last match in charge of The Potters. We have a quick chat then about the supposed Riyard Mahrez transfer to The Blues from Leicester City. It had been big news on in the internet just before the time of recording, it’s since been found out to be fake but we discuss where he’d fit into the team if they did splash the cash and maybe they’d be better off trying to sign Jamie Vardy.

Premier League Betting TipsNext up we have a look at the match between Liverpool and Leicester City at Anfield. We find some stats on Liverpool that people who haven’t been keeping an eye on them will be surprised about; they actually have a good defence…kind of. The ProTipster Boys dig deep into this match to find something of value and it all boils down to which Liverpool turns up, the one that steamrolled Swansea, or the one that fell asleep against Arsenal and conceded 3 goals in 5 minutes.

We get chatting then about whether Liverpool signing Virgil van Dijk will be the answer to Liverpool’s problems. Neil Warnock isn’t too impressed with the signing, but y’know, Neil Warnock’s gonna Neil Warnock isn’t he? The recent Liverpool – Swansea match gets a mention so we have a wee natter about the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal at Swansea City, nobody is really convinced here at ProTipster Towers, surely it can only be admitting Premier League relegation and they’re already preparing for life back in The Championship.

Next up is Manchester United taking on Southampton at Old Trafford. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been up to his old tricks, blaming his ‘lack of spending’ on why Manchester City are so much better than The Red Devils. People are talking about Mourinho’s comments rather than them scraping a 2-2 draw with The Ginger Mourinho’s (Sean Dyche) Burnley FC. Should he instead have been praising his team for coming back from 0-2 down instead? We get talking then about how Harry Kane has scored 50 goals since Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long last scored and as well about some of Jose Mourinho’s reverse psychology on players like Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Premier League Podcast

Crystal Palace Vs Manchester City is next up on the pod. Palace were due to play Arsenal at home just after we recorded but again it’s pretty much impossible not to see City winning pretty easily again.

That’s it for the Premier League coverage, next up is a couple of Championship managers. First up we talk about Tony Pulis replacing Garry Monk at Middlesbrough. We all think it’s a strange appointment but there’s some logic behind it. Yes, you’ve guessed it, money. Anyway, Middlesbrough take on Aston Villa this weekend who themselves might be just about to start having some managerial problems of their own.

The big match from The Championship this weekend though is the top-of-the-table clash between second-placed Bristol City and first-placed Wolves. This is going to be a cracking, we’re all in agreement here, but what are we backing?

Glasgow’s Old Firm match between Celtic and Ranger get an honorable mention. ProTipster Martin gives a nice tip for it and the Celtic-supporting masters of Post Rock, Mogwai get a very honorable mention too.

We turn our attention to Europe then to two games from Italy’s Serie A where Fiorentina take on AC Milan who are slipping and sliding further down the table and Inter take on Lazio, both teams have wobbled lately and need to get their seasons back on track.

Finally then we have a wee chat about The Guardian’s Top 100 players of 2017. Harry Kane is Top 5. Really? Yes, really.
